Kolashin

Kolašin - one of mountain tourism centers of Montenegro

Montenegro attracts guests not only with its wonderful beaches, but also with world-famous ski resorts!

Ski Resort Kolašin is a good, uncrowded place for recreation with modern equipment. It is located 10 km from the city at an altitude of 1450 meters.

Historical note: in the 7th century, the city was founded by the Turks as a fortress on the trade route from Istanbul to the Adriatic coast and gradually expanded. Nowadays it is one of the two ski resorts in Montenegro for fans of winter sports and entertainment.

The most profitable option for any company is to rent a comfortable car - so you will have the opportunity to conveniently get back to Budva and visit interesting places on the way that surround this town in abundance.

Your possible way: along the Budranska highway E65 / E80 through Cetinje and Podgorica in 2.5 hours - 144 km, or along the M2 highway.

You can also drive to Kolasin through the picturesque Plavsko Lake, which freezes in winter.
Not far from Kolasin, in Zabljak, there are also excellent ski slopes. Like the Kolasin tracks, they are suitable for professionals and amateurs of high-speed driving, and the resort in Kolasin is incomparable in terms of convenience for calm children's mountain skiing on gentle slopes.

Kolasin can be safely called one of the ski resorts of Montenegro; people from all over the world come to this compact European-style town to disconnect from business and the crowded city bustle and spend time with health benefits in the middle of mountain forests in the purest air, which has a healing effect.

Today we are heading to the center of mountain tourism Kolašin, a resort near the town of the same name. Located at the foot of the slopes of Mount Belasitsa - in guidebooks can be found under this name.

The Kolasin ski resort is sometimes referred to as the mountains of the Biogradska Gora National Park - Bjelasica - on the slopes of which it is located.

In late autumn, when the snow cover falls on the grassy slopes of Belasitsa, lovers of active sports purposefully come here: skiing and snowboarding, for the latter there is a separate slope. The meandering trails stretch at a distance of 10 km from Kolashin and come to the ski resorts "Belasitsa" and "Trebalevo".

The resort is open all year round, and the ski season lasts from November to April, but thanks to the grassy pistes passing through the forests, you can ski even with a small thickness of snow. There is also a ski school.

Easy, medium difficulty and very difficult tracks of the resort with a total length of 16.5 kilometers, there are slopes certified by the FIS (International Ski Federation) for international competitions. Every winter, the FIS youth races begin at the resort, and in the city itself, in honor of the opening of the season, festival performances are held with festive traditional treats for city guests.

Developed infrastructure - qualitatively renovated chairlifts, drag lifts and children's lifts and cable cars, plus the Vilina Voda elevator, unique for Montenegro, which can accommodate more than 5000 people at a time.
Kolasin itself is surrounded by the sights of Montenegrin nature already known to travelers: the famous Biogradska Gora National Park with prehistoric glacial lakes and untouched forests, the noisy harsh Moraca canyon, the turbulent crystal clear Tara in its impressive canyon, the Sinyavica and Komovi mountain ranges and covered with fir forests and centuries-old Belasitsa between the Tara and Lim rivers with its own ski slopes and, as a rule, abundant snow cover.

Plus, in the vicinity of Kolashin, on the river of the same name, the ancient Moraca monastery was erected in the 4th century. In this place you can relax after active rest and feel the atmosphere of antiquity among the mountain peaks, disconnected from business and the crowded city bustle, observing the pristine beauty of the mountain ranges.

On the way to Zabljak from Budva, we will pass along the unique Djurdzhevich bridge over the Tara river.

Be careful on the serpentines! We wish you a pleasant trip!
