All three options take approximately 3 hours - about 190 kilometers of a mountain road.

The inhabitants of Montenegro believe that the name Durmitor originates from the Celtic "dru mi tore", which means "mountain full of water".

The huge territory of the park is almost 400 sq. km - contains the mountain range of the same name, canyons of the rivers Sušica, Draga, Tara, the upper part of the Komarnica plateau. The landscape is complemented by numerous streams gushing from the mountains, mountain rivers, caves, springs with drinking water and lakes of glacial origin.

Durmitor was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and is under its protection.

On the way to the park near the canyon of the Sushitsa River, you can stop at the observation deck and enjoy the magnificent panoramas of mountainous Montenegro. The landscape is made up of rocky ridges, mountain springs, emerald glacial lakes - they are clearly visible from the windows of the car when climbing to the top, and the long slopes of the plateau are covered with green meadows. An interesting fact: the mountain range includes about 50 peaks, among them there are peaks with a height of more than 2000 m.Pick Bobotov Kuk - 2500 m, along with the mountains in the Prokletije massif on the border with Albania, is the highest mountain peak in Montenegro.

At the same time, both professional climbers and ordinary lovers of long mountain walks, equipped with backpacks and comfortable shoes, visit Bobotov Cook with pleasure - the ascent is quite simple and gives a lot of impressions.

And at the foot of the Durmitor massif (also to the north of Podgorica), not far from the Žabljak settlement, there is the popular Crno jezero lake with the purest clear water. During the peak season, there are always a lot of tourists around the lake!

Its emerald waters, which are cold at any time of the year, offer swimming, fishing and boating.

Around are scattered a large number of smaller lakes, no less picturesque: Barno, Vrazhie, Zminye, Modro, Riblé.

On the vast territory of the natural park - in its forests and glades - it is difficult to get lost - paths with direction signs are everywhere.

At the top of Savin Kuk there is a well-known source with healing water among eco-tourism lovers.

The fascinating beauty of the Durmitor National Park will be appreciated by fans of hiking and outdoor activities, and in winter - by fans of skiing and mountaineering.

Durmitor is also known for the Ice Cave (Ledina pećina) under the Obla Glava Mountain ("round head"). Covered in snow all year round, this miracle produced by nature is also located near the village of Zabljak and is suitable for experienced climbers, since an exciting descent into the bowels of the earth to the icy beauty can be made with good preparation.

You can overcome many rapids and gorges and get a memorable experience and a charge of vivacity by rafting down the deepest canyon in Europe - the canyon of the Tara River. The popularity of rafting is constantly growing!
The river is informally called "The Tears of Europe" - clean and transparent water is drinkable without treatment. Tara is the most popular choice among fans of this rather extreme entertainment. For rafting, they give out the necessary equipment, helmets, vests and wetsuits, and under the guidance of an instructor, those who wish can float on kayaks, rafts, and rubber boats on the waters of a stormy river.

In the canyon of this river, another landmark of the country was erected - the Djurdjevic Bridge, one of the most impressive bridges in Europe.
